We offer personalized lesson packages from our qualified instructors on trained horses to give students of all ages, skill level or riding discipline the gift of balance and feel.
Our holistic approach to horse handling, care and riding gives students the necessary skills in and out of the saddle to excel in horsemanship through our program and beyond.
Meet the program leader and head instructor Carol Cessna. Carol is a CHA certified riding instructor who brings 26 years of experience in horsemanship and teaching. She specializes in using her passion and knowledge for horses in creating a unique and fun experience for each student. Carol creates a positive and rewarding environment for both the horse and rider to succeed in her lessons.
Meet our instructor Suzanne Elenich. Suzanne has a degree from the nationally accredited equestrian college Meredith Manor. She brings over 15 years of riding experience and went on to lead national show teams across the US after obtaining her degree. Before her career in horses, she was a principal ballerina and possesses a fine eye for posture, movement & balance both in the horse and rider.
Meet our assistant instructor Keelie Hyppa. She is currently studying to obtain her CHA certification. She has been riding and caring for horses most of her life and has spent years mentoring under classically trained dressage trainers such as Suzanne Elenich. She is excited to work alongside the Balanced Stride Academy team and share the knowledge she has learned to help others in their equine
Meet Davinci - the corner stone of the program. The running joke in the barn is Davinci is an Arab in a draft horse costume.... He is a laid-back fellow who loves anything involving treats or shoulder scratches. A trusted mount for riders of all ages and skill levels who is sure to charm his way into your heart (and cookie supply).
Meet Sunshine! The owner and head instructor of the program Carol's Princess. Sunshine is a Missouri Fox Trotter and is gaited. She has some get up and go and is always looking forward to her job. Her personality and coat color stays true to her name, and she definitely brings a little sunshine with her wherever she goes.
Meet Tym! The old man Fjord of the barn, but don't let his age fool you...Tym's still got it! He enjoys cuddles, grooming and long walks around the arena with the beginner students. If you're up to the task this old man can show you his moves and has something fun for the advanced students as well.
Meet Munchkin! Coming in at over 16 hands tall Munchkin is ironically one of the tallest horses on the property....and also the sweetest. Due to her Gypsy x Shire breeding she has an excellent temperament perfect for students of all ages and skill levels.

Meet Miss Tally! Tally-Ho, do you have a little that wants to learn to ride? No problem, Tally's got you covered. From dead beginners to advanced students, Tally the Pony has something special to offer each of them. She likes being told she is a good girl and appreciates some extra TLC after a long days work after her lessons.
Leasing horses is a great option for people looking to get some additional time in the saddle outside of lessons, or for those considering horse ownership in the future. At Balanced Stride Riding Academy, we pride ourselves on having a leasing program that gives our students the opportunity to get the riding and horsemanship experience they desire, on horses they know and trust.
**Students must be enrolled in our lesson program for a consecutive period of time before they will be eligible to enter into an in-barn lease agreement, and are at the sole discretion of the Balanced Stride Academy Instructors to decide if the lease will be the right fit for both the student and horse**
